What are the available methods to receive messages? Just like sending, you can use our application interfaces (APIs) to receive messages back to your Web site or application, or our desktop application to receive back to your PC, Mac or Linux workstation. What mobile number does the end user send a message to in order that a message is received? They can send the message into a Virtual Mobile Number (long number) or short code. RoutoMessaging provides both in specific countries. What situations would I use a long number instead of a short code and vice versa? If you need the number to be more memorable and / or wish to charge a premium to the end user then a short code maybe more suitable. If the number doesn't need to be memorable (because it is set as the dynamically specifiable originator / “sender ID” of a message that the end user simply replies to) and you wish to avoid the regulatory factors associated with a short code then a long number could be more suitable. Long numbers are generally quicker than short codes (especially compared with dedicated short codes). How do I find out more or get started with two way messaging? It's quick and easy. Just register for an account (there's no charge) first. Then tell us to how you'd like to receive messages (applications, Web site or desktop) and we'll provide you with instructions you need to get started. |
